Co-created by 38 countries: the story behind Europe’s environment 2025
"We had the ambition to make this edition of Europe's environment report a strong digital product (incorporating an AI search for the first time), and to strengthen the country representation and ownership. All this, while retaining a European level assessment that weaves together the environmental, economic and social dimension into a convincing evidence-based narrative. A novelty in the 2025 edition is the way we co-created country profiles with our member and cooperating countries."

Become a Topic Centre organisation and engage with the EEA
The EEA is looking for new Topic Centres to partner with for the period 2027-2030 from 12 countries in this first phase.
Topic Centres are a core part of the relationship between the European Environment Agency and the European Environment Information and Observation Network (Eionet). They act as a conduit for data and information flows, and analysis between the EU level and EEA member countries.
The Topic Centres support the EEA in carrying out several important tasks for managing the collection, verification, and assessment of environment and climate data that EU Member States report to the EEA under EU legislation and other requirements.
