Climate-ADAPT expands language access to boost adaptation efforts across Europe

In a step towards making climate adaptation knowledge more accessible across Europe, Climate-ADAPT is now available in all 24 official EU languages, as well as Norwegian, Icelandic, and Turkish. This expansion significantly improves access to vital climate information and learning resources for regional and local authorities.

This development supports one of the core objectives of the 2022–2024 Climate-ADAPT Strategy: to break down language barriers and enable more coherent and effective adaptation policies and actions at all levels of governance.

With funding from the European Commission, the official EU eTranslation tool has been integrated into the platform. This enables automated translation of Climate-ADAPT, including its sub-platforms — the European Climate and Health Observatory and the EU Mission on Adaptation Portal.

The translated content, accessible via the top-right menu of Climate-ADAPT, allows users to navigate and explore adaptation guidance, tools, and knowledge in their national language. While these are machine-generated translations without human quality assurance, they offer a practical way for users to understand the available resources and information.

Please note that official country reporting presented in the Climate-ADAPT Country Profiles remains available in English only, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of official data.

Users are encouraged to provide feedback on the translation feature to help improve its quality over time. Comments and suggestions can be sent to: climate.adapt@eea.europa.eu.
